Default Giant ball Pythons

Hi

On my recent reptile run i got to see many amazing animals, cobras, chameleons (im now getting some lol) and other funky stuff, but one animal i hands down fell in love with and absolutely need to source was one that has been spoken about a few times i have seen, it was Sub-Saharan Ball Python, the animal was really big and i adored it, i am a total BP keeper would never keep another snake and would also love something that grows bigger than your average female, now i know some people are critical about this "locality" and it does cause some arguement but i saw the animal with my own eyes and it was bigger by far than any BP i have ever seen, hands down it must have been 6ft and weighed 5-6kilos easily, it was fatter than my arm and its head was about the same size as the inside dimension of a 20 pack of cigarettes (the only reason i say this is as i was trying to describe it to someone and it was the prefect match, im not even a smoker but it was about that size)

so basically im looking to see if anyone knows where to get these animals from? i really want one

chris

I have a 3700g girl, she has gone off food for breeding, but I am sure she will continue to grow. It's not as though she was pounding food. She ate once every week or two and put on 2kg in about a year and a bit. I have 4 baby normals from her.

I am yet to see if these guys will prove to be as large though.

A pic of her next to a 10 note.

I don't think her head is quite like a 20 pack. She is huge though.

Btw, I am the guy you dropped off the cinny het hypo from Pi reptiles to.

I guess its down to a mixture of luck and genetics. Maybe we'll start to see lines of large ball pythons being pushed forward in a few years. It'll be a touchy issue though, as you'll get lots of people selling average normals babies as 'big' normals.

Although maybe it's not too different to hets.

Speak to Palomine on here (Elaine). She has Buffy, who I would say is a sub-saharan. Her head is the size of my fist! There is a thread on her somewhere.... she is the size of a boa, all in propotion too. Absolutely gorgeous! Once Elaine let's her go, she will come and live with me...she's one hell of a royal!!

I have two large girls here heads are quite large but still only small compared to a 6 kilo one, What get's me is you hear these storys but hardly see any photo's prehaps the owner you dropped the huge one off to could pop on with photo's ( I'm also a sucker for large royals )

I do get offered the chance of W/C adult females each year so will see if I can find out if I can get any LARGE females ;)
