Default Bearide help!

Hi everyone,
i bought a bearded dragon from my local reptile shop a little while ago and i took my male out of his three foot viv, moved the stuff around and put her in by herself for about 20 mins coz that is what the guy told me to do...
when i put him in he kept head bobbing and grabbing her behind the neck and then after a while she started hand waving and about a week later she began to lay herself flat out and tried biting his tail and he reacted same and puffed up his chin.
i spoke to a bearded dragon breeder and she told me that she could be prego so i seperated them but could not feel any marble shapes in her belly after a little while of checking i put him back in and she began flattening out and puffing chin and going for his tail and he did same.

so he is now removed again and they are seperate.
so i was wandering if i had wasted my money on a male?
coz the guy that usually deals with the beardies at the reptile shop wasn't there and they just said the bigger one in that tank of four beardies was the male, so i chose the one i have now thought to be female...
so all you bearded dragon breeders ot there, i was wandering if females act like this?

plese help, thanks!

I have been breeding beardies for many years and the first reaction started like a normal breeding behavior. The fast bobbing of head and darkeneing of the beard are good male dominant signals and the arm waving of the female of slow head bobbing are submisive female behavior. So that sounds spot on. The second encounter could just be the male wasnt in the mood or sometimes the females react first and then the male should respond by asserting his dominance and taking over as he did before.

It is truw when a female is getting close to laying she can get fiesty and I have seen then get tough on the male.

If she doesnt look gravid, and it is usually obvious as the stomach looks like its filled with marbles, try paring them again and watch to see how the male behaves. He should get aggressive again.
