Stolen Image + Others of same gecko

You guys stole my image and now you're calling me a liar, so here you go....this is my original neon patternless line female crested gecko.

The first image is the one that made it to the web - the others came out a bit dark and were not used.

Now please - remove the image from your website.

For the record, I did try sending a polite email to the owner of this website about six months ago, but it was ignored. The more time I have to waste getting this situation resolved, the less amicable I'm going to be.

All I will say is, yes, I will agree that image #1 looks identical to that used in the Reptile Classifieds banner....

BUT, what I will say, is that the way you came on here, and literally demanded was not acceptable......Scott is a good guy, and a very respected member of the reptile community here, I am quite sure he doesn't need to be spoken to like a piece of shit you have just stood on.

PS: I am having nothing else to do with this, merely stating my opinion.

Do not put words in my mouth. I don't know Scott and have never said anything disrespectful to him.

But yes, I did talk to one member and one of your admins "like a piece of shit", as you say, for the simple reason that they accused me of lying about this. After the thread was closed, Jon Griffin accused me of trying to get around the post-count limit so that I could post spam links to outside websites...totally ridiculous.

Bottom line, I'm the one whose photo was stolen and doctored up into a cheesy advertising graphic, and your members/admins actually have the nerve to accuse me of being a liar. So there you have it - if these folks don't want to be spoken to like a "piece of shit" then they shouldn't behave like one.

Bottom line, I want the image removed and I really couldn't care less what any of you folks think of the way I'm going about it. I tried a polite email and it went ignored for 6+ months, so here we are. I knew this wasn't going to be a popular topic here, but I really don't care at this point.

Anthony, OK that seems to show that the image is yours and I am sure that it will be changed. I'm still at a loss to know why you had to approach this issue in the manner you did. There is nothing to say that the message you sent Scott actually got to him. I have been a mod on different forums and more than once we have had people complain that we haven't replied to messages we hadn't received. It just doesn't seem to be a big issue and could have been handled differently.
It's a shame you couldn't care less about what we think, you seem to have a good reputation in the business and reputations are built on what people think.

Then let me clear that up for you. If you go back and look at the other thread, I was being civil at first. When I say my images are being used without permission and they say "prove it", they're in no uncertain terms calling me a liar. That's when things took another turn.

If I say the crested gecko image is mine, and you (the forum owner) know it's not yours, you should remove it without questioning me...that's the polite way to handle it.

The only representative of this forum (Stuart) to speak on this matter thus far was a complete jerk about it. He questioned if the photo was really mine and then had to throw in little digs about how he could take a better picture, telling me to get over myself, etc. Hardly the apologetic attitude that he should have had.

Just get over it Anthony, it's only a photo, although it must be frustrating that you got no respnse, it is highly likely that the E-mail was simply no recieved. Just send another message. In the meantime, I think it would be best if everyone would just not say anything else in response to this, unless you're Scott, in order for this not to spiral out of control and not become more of a problem than it is.

Hi Anthony,

Sorry I didn't receive your email, I never set up the new classifieds email account after moving servers and forgot all about it (I will go set that account up now).

As for your image, I don't doubt it's your image at all. Sadly I can not remember who or where the image can from originally and yes I did perhap wrongly assume that the person that sent it to me had permission for me to use it.

I have removed the image now, if you know of any other places the image is displayed, please email me at scott@captivebred.co.uk
