I've done that, I kept Corns, Milk Snakes, and Hognose Snakes in the same rack. Kept them with a hot spot of 30C, they all did well.

Presently I have a corn snake rack and I have a gecko rack that has 3 different species of Nephrurus (Knob Tail Geckos) in it.

As long as you monitor the temps and remember that tubs at the top of the rack will be hotter than those lower down you should be fine.

I've kept... am keeping... Rosys, Rats, Balls, Tokay, Rachodactylus, Leopard gecko, Madagascar Tree boa, Bullsnakes... in the same rack system. The enclosures do not have supplemental heating. The reptile room is maintained at about 85F.

Same deal with tortoises and turtles... with few exception... most reptiles seek out a specific temperature within a range. I found that to be around 85F.

Again... there are exceptions.

Yup,

As James has, already, stated...........use a thermostat for each species.

We use the Vision hatchling rack (60 tubs) which 'house' a variety of species depending on their status - i.e. sufficiently large that they are not stressed with the accommodation.

Species as follows:-

Python regius _ top 4 shelves (heat rises) _ appropriate temp. with separate thermostat.

Lampropeltis t hondurensis _ 1 shelf under ball pythons.

Pantherophis guttatus _ 6 shelves under hondurans.

O p coxi / E mandarinus / O p laticinctus / E conspicillatus _ bottom shelving area @ 27C

The Asian Rat snakes are the species that are not immediately placed into the racking system.

They are too small @ hatchling stage to accept such a large area, therefore, another method is used for these kids until they are 6 - 12 months of age.

Regards. Lex

Yup,

The adults & sub-adults are 'housed' in vivarium - separate room.

We are speaking Vision hatchling rack here & the youngsters of 'old world' rat snakes species that we keep are far too small to retain in a vivarium.

Mines probably close to adult. I need to get some photos of it before I get rid of the nasty bastid. I also need to get a good ID I'm not really sure what it is.
