Attention amphibian people and fans of naturalistic terrariums.
How would people feel about an invited guest appearing on captivebred that;
- Has arguably the greatest degree of experience at keeping and breeding some of the World’s most endangered frog species as part of a worldwide conservation programme.
- Has conducted over 20 research expeditions to some of the remotest areas, including; Amazonian South America, Central America and tropical Queensland, Australia.
- Has also presented his subject on television and acted as a main scientific advisor for several wildlife documentaries, including David Attenborough`s BBC series Planet Earth.
- Has written a book, “Keeping Amphibians” published by Collins, which provides expert guidance and vital information for the beginner.
- Is responsible for educating children and University undergraduates with regard to amphibians and biodiversity in general.
- Oversees the management of the Vivarium and (live) Herpetological collection at the Manchester Museum, which includes GTPs, Green tree monitors, Fiji iguanas and dart frogs.
The person described above is Andy Gray. I have had the pleasure of listening to two of Andy’s thoroughly engaging talks and the opportunity arose on the last occasion to share a beer or two with him. I can whole-heartedly say that Andy is a completely approachable, friendly, down to earth guy and would no doubt prove to be an interesting and informative guest. If you are interested in red-eyed or whites tree frogs for example, and have a question or two to ask regarding them, than Andy is most definitely the man to ask.
He also has some interesting tales to tell regarding his trips to the tropics.
Some of the most impressive naturalistic terrarium set ups that I have ever seen which house amphibians and reptiles are overseen by Andy, so you may want to ask him about naturalistic set ups too.
Let us know on this thread if you are interested.
