Looks like job done to us - she looked ready too - they soon let the lads know if they are not!!! I'm not going to get involved with a domestic! But it might be good to let this girl breed get a few hatchlings and rear them as it will all be good experience and very rewarding too (well, we think so!) - Let us know how you get on.

    Well done chap - I won't tell!!!

We leave our males in and only remove them if the females look stressed in any way - mating can look a bit aggressive and the occassional bite does draw blood - we just remove the girl and put her on her own for a bit!!

Sounds like your male had a go at least = you've given him a taster now, he just needs a little more practice!!

Let us know how you get on....

I just put my male SHCTB in with my blazing blizzard. He shook his tail and pinned her, then nibbled her back gently and she submitted and raised her tail. He everted his hemipenes and it looked like they were doing the deed but for no more than 30 seconds (and i'm not 100% sure he actually got his tackle inside her) then he let her go and sat there licking his hemipenes for about a minute, then he saw something and got distracted and it retracted. I took him out because i had to take a shower and wasn't sure about leaving him in. Is this it done or was it just sort of a practice run type thing? Am i supposed to leave him in for a while?

Tell us about it, we only have a third of our girls in at the moment as we kept a lot back from last year so will be a long season - quite an experimental one at that - be exciting to see what we get!! - A Bell Blazing Blizzard would be nice although it took Steve Sykes 6 years to produce one!!

Royal collection has grown - added Spider girl, pair of lessers, mojave and pinstripe boy (Carrie likes the Kingpins!! roll on 2011) amongst others - just need them to grow!!

Anyway, look forward to seeing you both at one of the shows - oh, and tell Mel to stop fretting and get on with it - she has some great leo's which will make some awesome babies!!!

I think she's pushing 200g now but more like 180 empty probs. 60 eggs you're gonna have your hands full soon lol. My royals won't even look at each other :-( my pastel and spider males sit at opposite ends to any females i put them in with and look pissed off. I've only got 2 females up to size at the moment though and they are both only in their second winter (so i was told) so i suppose this could be why. one is 1800g though!!!!!!!!!

Good to hear the pastel is doing well:-) - how big is she now? All pretty good 60 leo eggs and counting, at least one gravid royal and fingers crossed for a few more (10 females in total this year have locked up). Working hard as set up a new business but not the best time to do it given current circumstances - never did like the easy life - LOL!!
