Hi, i currently have a 5 year old male bosc and a 2 year old asian water. Thinkin of expanding and am very much interested in the Lace monitors and Argus Monitors, Would like to know how possible is it to purchase a captive bred specimen obviously hatchling or very young? Thanks.

Never seen a Lace monitor for sale (although I have heard that there are some in Europe), Argus monitors are offered occasionally, just keep scanning the classifieds www.reptileclassifieds.co.uk

Don't know how it is in the UK, but on shows on the mainland most of them are WC or FB. But in Germany there are some breeders with CB.

Argus as usually seen in the trade over there do not come from Australia - they're the New Guinea subspecies Varanus panoptes horni

as crocdoc said they are horni and loads of ppl now breeding these in the uk expect to pay around £200 for one
