Bit of a struggle, 5 good original eggs from a clutch of 10. One was opened a few weeks ago as it didnt make it and it looked as if there was a deformity of the jaw and died around day 40 or so, another one made it to 3 days ago. The egg started sweating and going off colour but I could see the baby moving the next day the egg smelled and there was nothing so made a little slit to find the baby had only just died but its tongue was very long and haning out as if it had been bitten other than that I think it may have died of exhaustion. I have read about how if the mother holds onto the eggs longer than the 30 the hatchlings can be weaker and it was certainly longer than that. Because of the first one I decided that at day 109 or close to I would be safe to slit the other eggs to help and let them decide themselves. I am really glad i did. 1 is a bit exhausted and out today but a lot of yolk to absorb so left in a damp kitchen roll tub. The other have been let into their viv on damp kitchen rolls with a small amount to absorb but off exploring already. Although its only 3 I am happy they are here and its all a learning curve. Send them good vibes as the next few days will make or break them especially the 3rd baby.

the middle was very tired so had to open quite a bit to see it was alive

Apart from a possibly slink kink in ones tail I cant see any problems at the mo.

Didnt know if the third would make it through the night with so much yolk but most is absorbed and about to die and break off they have been pressing their noses on the glass and watching the hoover go back and forth.
