Default Ackie monitor behavior help?

Only had my ackie for just over a week, I was just wondering if this is normal behavior he well come out about 6 in the morning and stay active till about 10-12 then he will borrows away( hides in between the large slabs) he well come out every few hours bask and then hide away now this I'm not worried about but over the last couple of days he has started coming out at about 12-12.30 at night and is pretty active I'm sure he is just coming out to bask and warm up but he doesn't he will walk about and run over his logs and stuff before relaxing again, the only change i have made is that i haven't been turning his UV strip on the last couple of days as it was getting the Viv to hot in the cool end( in the process of building a bigger Viv) someone told me it would be okay not using this as he still knows day and night from when i open my curtains and when i shut them, but i didn't no if maybe not having a light in the Viv(other than the light from the basking bulb) was messing with him any help would be great

Thanks Danny

Hi, I don`t quite understand what you mean when you say the UVB tube is raising the cool end temps, because these lights emitt very little heat? Can you give some details of enclosure size and type, how you measure the temps and humidity (analogue or digital thermometer with a probe/Temp-gun), what`s the lowest ambient (air) temp in the coolest part of the tank, and the surface temp at the basking site, and finally, can you put a few photos up? Thanks!

There really isnt a problem...

No animal fits the description of diurnal or nocturnal...

So long as its eating pooping etc... its normal

I think he may still be settling but Shane just answered my question really that its no worries if they come out in the evening for a little roam around there 'house'
