I wouldn't give up. If Corn snakes are not up to it, Black Rat Snakes certainly would be, and (I think) they are sympatric with Corns in the wild (Am I right guys?).

i would worry about theft as well tbh. i know when the torts were put out they were brought indoors if i were going out and were always brought in at night.

im no expert on corns, but know for a fact that there are a few ratsnakes living in regents park and seem to have established themselves there.

My main worry would be if they escaped bit different if it escapes in the house you have some chance of finding it but whole different ball game outside.
It only takes the smallest mistake in the viv construction for one to escape, plus you can't use glass or perspex because effectively you could end up cooking them.
I let my snakes enjoy some sun when its hot enough but its always supervised we have some small fruit trees in the garden which they all seem to love.
