The venom is used as a form of defence as well, otherwise people would not be bitten and envenomated.
You have to appreciate and respect the reasons why some hate venomous snakes, it's clear you don't. Killing them just because they are there is what I hate, these people obviously have had it drummed in to them that what they are doing is good.........I disagree, but, they are Americans......and if you are an American, you tend to not give a flying feck about anything, be it nature, or people.....some exceptions, of course.

I think that's a pretty racist generalisation ViperLover. I'm sure if we had as many venomous snakes in this country as they do in the USA then we'd have just as high a percentage of 'snake-haters' as they do over there.

Do you understand humour?

The common stereotype of Americans is that they just don't care about anything............I never said they are all like that, I said there are exceptions.
You get arseholes everywhere you go, it's not only the US.........Bloody hell I could name atleast a few (probably close to 30 or so) assholes from over here in the UK that I know, know of, or have met.

I actually don't mind the Americans.........I've came across some tossers, but I've met some nice ones as well, who have been visiting the UK. They ain't all bad.

Actually I do appreciate the fact that some people are scared of venomous snakes. There are people who are terrified of all snakes I have come across a good number of them. Some of them I have been able to cure of their fear through education others have a true phobia and this is not so easy to deal with.

I hate cruelty to any animal not just snakes and like you I find killing anything simply because it is there totally abhorrent and this is why I want to see an end to rattlesnake round ups.
