Default My 1st Adder sighting for 2012.

I thought I would give it another try at one of my local reptile areas today, after all, the sun was out and it was warmer than it had been lately .
I arrived at approx 11.30am. but no sooner had I started looking for any type of reptile, the clouds returned and the temperature started to drop.
Just as I was thinking of calling it a day(and returning to work!) I spotted my 1st Adder of 2012, it was an adult male and deep in the undergrowth. After trying to capture some sort of record photo, the adder slowly moved out of sight.

Last year, my 1st adder sighting was on the 24/2/11, so Ive beat that by 9 days.

Here is the photo, cheers.

Thanks.

Note- The weather forecast for this Thursday and Friday look good for adder/reptile sightings. The prediction(here in the south) is above 15 degrees Celsius, so I would image a few adders will be out basking in those types of temps. Good luck to any of you that go searching

Well what a day, it was wall to wall sunshine in Kent, the temp. got to 18 degrees...did anyone else get out?

I had an extended lunch break from work and went to the same area where I found the 1st adder on the 16th, he was a little more out in the open today, and less than 10 feet from him, was another male adder.

Flickr is down so hooray for photobucket!

The 1st male.

Then a little closer.

The 2nd male(which is a larger snake).

A close up of the 2nd male.

Cheers, I live/work very local to 2 adder sites that I frequent, so its only a 10 minute drive for me.

Still finding a few adders, and I also found a juvenile recently too.

Add to that, 1st Grass snake, Common Lizard and Slow worm as well.

Some recent pics.
