Default Sounds of poison dart frogs CD

I received a copy of this CD recently. The sound is of excellant quality and the CD features 15 different species of dart frog. It`s main purpose is for it to be used in conjunction with the correct temperatures and humidity to encourage breeding activity. In the same way that multiple males often works with various snake species, it also does with frogs. In the natural state, there is always a greater number of males competing for the prime calling spots.

I have cooled my dart frogs down a few degrees and dried them off a little as I am about to move house and see little point in them breeding right now with all the disturbance that is about to be inflicted on them. I couldn`t resist playing the CD though and turning the volume up. The reaction from my animals was almost instant, so I would highly reccommend this CD to anybody serious about breeding their dart frogs. As well as for breeding purposes, it is also pretty nice just to listen to in the background whilst working with the animals. It`s worth £10 of anyone`s money in my opinion. I know people that have used cd's like this, not sure if it's the same one (?) with great breeding success. Even had a friend who recorded it onto his phone and when played to mature frogs the results were, as you say, almost instant. Nearlly the whole room burst into song! Definately a must for any frog keeper...I think there's a few other 'rainforest' type cd's you can buy for background listening which include a whole variety of species sounds...8)

At the end of this CD James , there is a bonus track with all 15 species calling . Really is like being in the rain forest at that point. This CD will be a different one to the one that you have heard, as it was brought over from the US by a sole distributor.

I really have to get out to Central America soon and record some for myself! That last track must be great, I remember getting bought an Indonesian version and there were treefrogs, geckos, gibbons and about (from what I could hear) a million or so birds all at the same time!!

thats pretty neat. just thought i'd ask what species are there?
and does the sound of a different species still produce the same effect?
