Very interesting! I particularly like the Bibilava/ Liopholidophis... very cool looking snakes! Although most of the stuff from Madagascar is intriguing as apart from Sanzinia and Leioheterodon, and the VERY occasional Langaha and Madagascarophis, you don't really see many snakes from over there in Europe!

![]() I have found those mag 5/6's to be the best alround lights as they are powerful yet you can focus the beam in to a small area to reduce your field of vision, which I find easier when looking for stuff. When out herping torches and batteries are vital... I had to beg borrow steal in order to get the locals to run the diesel generators thoughout the daytime so that I could recharge my batteries enough!!! On this trip I took 3x 5 maglight 3x headlamps 2x aux torches along with 4 battery chargers and loads of disposables... The key is to use rechargable for as long as you can then switch to disposable when you have to. I think the main bulk of our over all weight was made up from batteries! |
