Hi, I know this is quite late, but mine were very young when I got them the Aquatics store had 10, I bought two, and six of the remaining died. Mine have thrived and In less than 4 months they had almost doubled to the size that their siblings had reached as I fed mine daily on prawns, and every 2-3 days on turtle pellets. I feed mine as much as they will eat, and they refuse food when they had enough, and also their armpits swell as obviously their bellies can't swell due to shell.

They are great little fella's and provide endless amusement.

To be honest the information on the net is contradictory if I follow one principle I have 3 males and a female, if I follow another, I have 2 of each. I look at them and use the idea with tortoise that the carapace is concave in males and my two youngest have concave carapaces and longer tails, but only a bit, seeing as they are slightly smaller, the two larger ones have a flat carapace and shorter tail but confused.

Will put some pics up tomorrow evening if I manage to get the right pics.

Default My little guys... maybe some gals... who knows.

As you can see, the older larger one in the picture has a more beige shell, whereas the little guy still has a black shell.
