If a pet shops holds DWAA scheduled species purely for ‘display’ then technically they would be required to hold a DWAA licence as animals not held for sale are not exempted by the PSL! A few shops have run into this issue over the years!!

I thought that this was the case, Chris, however I didn't want to say anything and look like an idiot if I was wrong, so, thank you for clarifying it!

Just out of interest, could this be overcome just by slapping a price ticket on the display? have a display dwa thats priced up so that realistically no one in there right mind would buy it but not be obviously over priced to deter a sale.

Absolutely, as long as the specimens are technically ‘for sale’ they will be included under the PSL – therefore exempt. If they are resident then they are not. I know this sounds pedantic but a number of shops have fallen into this trap….

Wonder what they would say if you asked for you application fee back? It isnt your fault they havnt a clue what to do. Can you ask them to change the address and write to them formely asking for a time scale to be put onto it otherwise if, as an earlier post stated, there is no time limit then they could just take money from people and keep saying they are looking into it.

Ah, Maybe if you called the licensing officers from other boroughs to find out if they have dwa holders then you could tell dartford to contact them for information
Dover even has a page on its website dedicated to dwa
Dover

Suggest you dont move to bexley borough though
Although old and from another forum i found this

Maybe thats why the demand isnt in the area?
